Special Education Program
Perhaps one of the most rewarding career fields, special education demands patient, knowledgeable educators with a passion for shaping a child's future. The following credentials, certificates and degrees prepare teachers for work in this field by providing a deep understanding of emerging concepts and practices partnered with field-based research and experience.
All program candidates are encouraged to have access to a laptop for all class sessions. A limited number of laptops are available for use at each of the campuses. Specific instructional supports are available and may be required of some candidates.
The following program options are available.
A special education candidate may also obtain a multiple subjects credential concurrently with an education specialist credential. Candidates who are interested in completing a multiple subjects credential concurrently, must seek academic advice from the site director of teacher education and special education.
Scholarship Application Process:
Private Donor scholarships established for School of Education student. In order to apply, you must be admitted into the program. The application will be sent to Faculty for their recommendations.
July 15 (for fall semester)
November 15 (for spring semester)
March 15 (for summer semester)
