Preliminary Multiple Subject Credential
Overview
Mission: We invite candidates in the teacher education program at FPU to embrace teaching as a calling to redemptive service. We expect our graduates will become scholars, professionals, peacemakers and leaders as they enter the teaching profession.
This credential includes coursework that provides you with an understanding of the history of schools, theories of teaching and learning, and methods of teaching. It emphasizes training prospective teachers to teach the Common Core State Standards. Students apply what they learn in coursework to the practical challenges of teaching during their early field experience and student teaching. This credential program prepares candidates to teach in multilingual, multicultural communities and is accredited by the California Commission on Teaching Credentialing (CCTC) and recognized by private schools, as well.
